Prichudie, Revisited

There are cultural pearls of Russian Old Believers persisted in Estonia by lake Peipsi, but it is still widely unfamiliar to most of Estonians, not to mention other Europeans. Russian Old Believers escaped from Russia already on the 17th century, when the country had orthodox church reforms: their religion was not accepted anymore and some of them found new home here. This culturally enriched part is one of the reasons why three photographers Annika Haas, Age Peterson and Birgit Püve renovated the old ambulatorium and established the cultural center called ambulARToorium. Now there is still on display their photo exhibition “Prichudie, Revisited” that portraits Russian life near Prichudie.
